No. 10. Lelietjes-van-dalen - Lilies of the valley
Convallaria majalis (Liliaceae)

Lelietjes-van-dalen bloeien in het late voorjaar, en ruiken heel lekker. Vroeger verwerkte men deze geur veel in zeep, net als die van seringen.
Het lelietje van dalen is erg vergiftig, zoals wel meer lelie-achtigen. Na de bloemen komen soms rode bessen, maar meestal draagt de plant geen vrucht.

The Dutch words 'Herwonnen geluk' mean: "regained happiness".
Lily of the valley blooms in late spring, and is very fragrant. It's one of the scents they gave to soap in the past, just like that of lilacs.
Like many kinds of lilies, Lily of the valley is very poisonous. The flowers can be followed by red berries, but more often the plant doesn't bear any fruit.
