Eén van de vele Hoya's - hoewel deze lang zo algemeen niet is hier in Nederland als Hoya carnosa met allerlei verschillende bladvarianten, en Hoya bella met haar fijne blaadjes.
Het blad van H. australis lijkt veel op dat van
Stephanotis floribunda.
Het jonge blad is bronskleurig (zie hieronder).
Deze plant is afkomstig uit Oost-Australië.

One of the many Hoyas - but this one isn't so easy to get here in the Netherlands as Hoya carnosa with all its different kinds of foliage, and Hoya bella with its slender leaves.
The foliage of H. australis looks a lot like that of Stephanotis floribunda.
Young leaves are bronze-coloured (see picture on the left).
This plant originates from Eastern Australia.
